HUARAZ ( 460 Kms from Lima )
Away from the ugly, misty, crowded and so-often violent Lima, is the city of Huaraz, at the heart of the Cordillera Blanca where lies the highest peaks of Peru. Huaraz, at 3100m asl, is a nice place to start altitude acclimatization, discovery of local food (less than one US$ for a common menu with soup, main and juice). The town is very tourist oriented, with the possibility to hire guides, find gaz, rent gear, find cheap accommodation... TRUJILLO
Chan - Chan is the largest complex of adobe architecture in America. Many of its walls bear designs of marine life. The huacas El Brujo, Huaca del Sol and Huaca de la Luna, which has brightly- painted clay relief panels of Moche deities.
See archaeologists at work at the Moche Pyramid of Cabo Viejo, north of Trujillo near the mouth of the Chicama River. This pre-Columbian religious ceremonial compound dates back 500 years originally consisted of three pyramids. CUZCO
The archeological sanctuary of Machupicchu, constructed in stone in the 15th century, is considered to be the maximun expression of inca architecture and organization. Sacsayhuaman is an Inca fortress constructed with enormous blocks of worked stone up to nime meters high. The Inca Trail is one of the most famous hiking routes in the world.
ICA
The Paracas culture is celebrated for its imcomparable textiles, tombs and the cranial trephinations. In the Paracas National Reserve, one can visit the Ballestas Island and the San Gallan island, national reserves of marine fauna and flora. The Nazca Lines are believed to be the largest astronomical calendar in the world
AREQUIPA
The second most important city in Peru and the location of the great Misti volcano. The Colca Canyon is a splendid place to observe Condors, the Cotohuasi canyon and the beautiful towns.

AMAZONAS KUELAP

PUNO
Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world at 3,812 meters aove sea level, It has a few island, such as Taquile, of great ethnic and cultural value, since the people there still preserve the ancient Inca Traditions.
